Suns' Jusuf Nurkić Shades Draymond Green After Viral Warriors Video: 'Getting Soft'

Joseph ZuckerFeb 15, 2024

The war of words between Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is far from over.

Green was forced to briefly exit Wednesday's 130-125 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers after Clippers big man Ivica Zubac inadvertently elbowed him in the face:

Nurkić was less than sympathetic about the play on social media:

It hasn't taken long for Nurkić and Green to develop a personal rivalry.

Green drew an indefinite suspension from the NBA when he struck Nurkić in the Warriors' 119-116 loss to the Suns on Dec. 12. The Bosnian big man said after the game the four-time All-Star "needs help."

Nearly two months passed before Phoenix and Golden State crossed paths again, yet it was clear to anybody watching the game that Green and Nurkić remained at odds.

Nurkić asserted to reporters after the contest that Green "didn't learn anything" during his time off and in counseling.

"Just a matter of time. He's going to hit somebody else again," he said. "Take back everything I said. He don't deserve a chance."

Green fired back by labeling Nurkić a "300 pound softy that can't finish games" and called him a "coward" on his podcast.

Unfortunately for basketball fans, the season series between the Suns and Warriors is over. They're both sitting in the bottom half of the Western Conference playoff bracket as well, with Golden State occupying the final play-in tournament spot. There's no guarantee of a postseason matchup.

The absence of any direct interactions may not stop Green and Nurkić from keeping their rivalry alive.
