Cowboys' Micah Parsons: Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes 'Undoubtedly' on 'Tom Brady Status'

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is ready to put Patrick Mahomes on the same level as Tom Brady.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Parsons said Mahomes is "undoubtedly" on "Tom Brady status" after winning his third title in six seasons as a starter.

Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a 25-22 overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58 on Sunday. He threw for 333 yards, ran for 66 yards and had two touchdown passes.

The Chiefs quarterback also earned his third Super Bowl MVP trophy in the win. He joined Brady and Joe Montana as the only players in NFL history to be named Super Bowl MVP at least three times.

There's a strong argument that Mahomes has had the greatest six-season run of any player in NFL history. Brady has multiple different six-year periods that could also be cited as the best by any player ever.

Looking at their first six seasons as starters, though, Mahomes has a clear edge over Brady in every category.

After Brady led the New England Patriots to their first Super Bowl in the 2001 season, they missed the playoffs the following year. Mahomes has at least made it to the AFC Championship Game every season since he became Kansas City's starter in 2018.

The only difference at this point is Brady's longevity. We know his entire body of work after a 23-year career that included seven Super Bowl wins in 10 appearances.

Mahomes' career is still being written, and it doesn't seem likely to slow down anytime soon. He is only 28 and has won back-to-back titles after the Chiefs traded away Tyreek Hill.

One thing that does give Brady the advantage in any arguments about the best quarterback of all-time debate is his teams went 2-0 against Mahomes in the playoffs, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' 31-9 win over the Chiefs in Super Bowl 55.
