Nacua had said he wanted to play in the event and was hoping to showcase a highlight play. He also said he could hang with Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, who is also known for his prowess on the basketball court.
Nacua just finished a rookie season that saw him get 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. He finished second behind Stroud for the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award and helped the Rams reach the postseason after missing out in 2022.
He played high school basketball in Utah before his college days on the gridiron, starring for Orem High School as a point guard. He scored 961 career points and also added 417 rebounds, 316 assists and 155 steals during his four years on the team.
He chose football for the next level, which has been a good choice given his collegiate and professional success.
Now he will get to showcase his talent on the hardwood in Indianapolis. The celebrity game is set to tip off at 7 p.m. ET. on ESPN.
