Deion Sanders Wants Lil Wayne in NFL Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show in New Orleans

NFL legend and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has his thoughts on who should play the halftime show of Super Bowl 59.

Sanders, who played in a handful of Super Bowls in his career, believes rapper Lil Wayne should be the performer at next year's halftime show in New Orleans, giving his thoughts on X following Usher's halftime performance on Sunday.

Wayne, 41, has never performed at halftime of a Super Bowl game, but Super Bowl 59 would be a fitting debut given New Orleans is his hometown. New Orleans was initially selected to host Super Bowl 58, but plans were changed due to conflicts with Mardi Gras.

Now, the biggest event of the NFL season will be heading to NOLA, and it could be time to see Lil Wayne on the stage. The rapper has already put his name in the running to perform at next year's halftime show, and Sanders would be all for it.

During his playing career, Sanders took home the Lombardi Trophy twice—once with the Dallas Cowboys and once with the San Francisco 49ers. He won Super Bowl MVP in 1994 with the 49ers.

Perhaps getting Lil Wayne on the stage for next year's show would be enough to get the former Super Bowl MVP in the house.
