Davante Adams Rumors: Jets' Rodgers Recruiting WR; Raiders Have 0 Plans to Trade Star
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hoping to reunite with his favorite wide receiver and longtime Green Bay Packers teammate in 2024.
Rodgers "has been trying to recruit" Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams to the Jets, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. However, the Raiders "have zero plans" to trade Adams this offseason.

Rodgers recruiting Adams comes as little surprise after he said during his end-of-season press conference that he would help recruit players this offseason if the front office would be interested in his help.
"If [general manager Joe Douglas] wants my help in recruiting, I'm available. I don't necessarily think it has to be anybody associated with this system," Rodgers said. "It's about character. You know, I think we need some characters on the offensive line. Some of the best lines we've ever had, have had some serious characters."
Adams has been a rumored trade candidate over the last several months given the fact that the Raiders have found little success since he joined the franchise in a trade from the Packers ahead of the 2022 campaign.
The Raiders have gone 14-20 over the last two seasons and haven't secured a playoff berth since the 2021 campaign. Adams, 31, is still looking to win a Super Bowl, and the chance to compete for a championship may not come in Las Vegas.
While the Raiders enter next season with a new head coach in Antonio Pierce, the franchise still needs to make some upgrades in several areas, most notably at quarterback, and it's unlikely they contend for a championship in 2024.
Adams has been linked to the Jets since ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Gang Green pursued a deal with the Raiders for the star receiver before the 2023 season's trade deadline.
Schefter added that New York was expected to pursue Adams again during the offseason.
Adams and Rodgers played together in Green Bay from 2014 to 2021. The duo led the Packers to five NFC North titles, six playoff appearances and four NFC Championship Games during their time together.
Adams put together arguably the best season of his career with Rodgers under center in 2020, catching 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns in 14 games.
If Adams and Rodgers were to reunite in the Meadowlands in 2024, the Jets would boast one of the best offenses in the NFL with Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Breece Hall also on the roster.
However, if the Raiders aren't interested in moving Adams this offseason, Rodgers and Co. might want to look elsewhere for a wide receiver. Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr. and Mike Evans are expected to be among the best available in free agency.
