Orlando Brown: Burrow over Mahomes, Lamar Jackson for Clutch Drive; Played with All 3

As a player who has had the experience of playing with Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown is uniquely equipped to provide insight about which quarterback he would trust the most in a late-game situation.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Brown said he would go with Burrow over Mahomes and Jackson to lead a game-winning drive.

"I'm going to go with my current QB," he replied. "I'm taking my man Joe Scheisty."

Brown did note it was "tough" choosing between the three.

This is clearly the smart political answer for Brown. If he answers either Mahomes or Jackson, then it becomes a topic that people want to talk about.

Someone on a radio or talk show devotes an entire episode to explaining why Brown's comments buried Burrow. We're heading into the offseason, after all, and people will need things to talk about.

Since the start of the 2021 season, Mahomes has nine game-winning drives. Burrow has seven, and Jackson has six.

All of Burrow's game-winning drives came between 2021 and 2022. He was limited to 10 starts in 2023 due to a wrist injury that required season-ending surgery in November.

There is really no wrong answer if you're choosing between these three quarterbacks. Mahomes is the most decorated player in the group with two regular-season and Super Bowl MVP awards. Jackson earned his second MVP award this season.

Burrow has yet to win an MVP award, but he's been the biggest factor in turning the Bengals' franchise into a powerhouse in the AFC. He's one of two quarterbacks, along with Tom Brady, who has beaten Mahomes in the playoffs.

Brown began his career with the Ravens when he was drafted in 2018. He spent three seasons in Baltimore before being traded to the Chiefs in April 2021. The 27-year-old won a Super Bowl with Kansas City last season before signing a four-year, $64 million contract with the Bengals as a free agent in March 2023.
