Justin Fields Trade Rumors: NFL Insiders 'Connect' Falcons to Bears QB Ahead of Draft
The Atlanta Falcons are reportedly a candidate to trade for Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields.
Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported many within the NFL "connect" Fields and the Falcons, who will be in the market for a new quarterback this offseason.
The Bears are expected to shop offers for Fields as they determine what they'll do with the No. 1 pick in April's draft. Smart money has been on Chicago resetting its quarterback contract clock and taking USC's Caleb Williams, which would make Fields fodder for a trade.

Rap Shuts Down Rodgers Rumor
Fields has flashed potential over his first three NFL seasons but has not been able to emerge consistently as a passer. He threw for 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns against nine interceptions while rushing for 657 yards and four touchdowns.
While those numbers are decent for a 24-year-old, that's all they are—decent. Fields has made only incremental improvements over his first three years, and the Bears face a decision about his fifth-year option this offseason. If Chicago moves on, that decision will be passed off to Fields' next team, which would likely tie itself to the $21.9 million payment in hope Fields emerges with a change of scenery.
Atlanta would certainly offer a chance for Fields to break out. The Falcons already have a promising young running back in Bijan Robinson and a top wideout in Drake London. Adding Fields to the mix would instantly vault the Falcons' young core into being one of the most interesting in the NFL.
