49ers' George Kittle, Arik Armstead Active for Super Bowl 58 After Toe, Knee Injuries

Andrew PetersFeb 9, 2024

The San Francisco 49ers will have a pair of key players active for the Super Bowl after questions if they would be ready to go.

Per ESPN's Nick Wagoner, tight end George Kittle and defensive tackle Arik Armstead will be ready to play and are not listed with injury designation on the final injury report before the Super Bowl. According to Wagoner, both were listed as full participants on Friday.

Kittle, who has been dealing with a toe injury, and Armstead, who has been managing a knee and foot injury, were both limited this week in practice. Kittle didn't practice at all last week, while Armstead missed Thursday and Friday's practices last week.

Kittle has been a huge part of the 49ers offense this season. He's racked up 65 receptions for 1,020 receiving yards, which is the second most for San Francisco this season. He's also pulled in six touchdowns on the year. Kittle has recorded 108 yards and a touchdown in the postseason.

Armstead has notched 27 tackles and five sacks this season. He had a pair of tackles in the NFC Championship Game against the Detroit Lions and three tackles in the divisional round against the Green Bay Packers.

Having the two players active will be huge for the 49ers as they take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. San Francisco is looking for its first Super Bowl victory since 1994, but it will have to get past the defending champs to claim it.
