All it took to get Cam Newton and Brandon Marshall to share never-before-heard NFL stories was the threat of hot sauce.

Marshall described the most unfair fine of his career as the $75,000 penalty he received from former Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels for "conduct detrimental to the team."
The former wide receiver said McDaniels hit him with the fine when he turned down what he described as a "s--t deal" offered to him amidst his contract dispute with the Broncos during his 2009 Pro Bowl season.
Newton named former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman as "the most savage trash-talker" he has ever played with.
The quarterback told a story about Edelman shutting down an opposing player with, "Who the f--k are you, anyway?" during Newton's first game for the Patriots against the Miami Dolphins in 2020.
Marshall said of the 17 quarterbacks he played with on six different teams, Ryan Fitzpatrick was the best and Jay Cutler was the worst despite the fact that "there was so much potential."
Most notably, Newton did not shut down the question of his return to the NFL. He last played for the Carolina Panthers in January 2022.
"If there's an opportunity for me to come back, I will," Newton said. "There hasn't been an opportunity that I deemed was good enough for me to come back."
"I plan to come back," the former Carolina Panthers quarterback concluded.
