49ers' Brock Purdy Reveals Advice from Joe Montana, Steve Young Ahead of Super Bowl
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has the benefit of relying on a few franchise legends and Pro Football Hall of Famers to give him advice in Joe Montana and Steve Young, and he told reporters Tuesday what each Super Bowl-winning signal-caller told him.
Montana won four Super Bowls as the 49ers' starting quarterback, while Young took home one (in addition to two others as Montana's backup in 1988 and 1989).

Montana also won three Super Bowl MVP, throwing for 1,142 yards and 11 touchdowns while winning all four of his appearances in the Big Game.
Young was sensational in his lone start, throwing for 325 yards and six touchdowns in a 49-26 win over the San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl XXIX.
Obviously, Purdy has a wealth of knowledge and experience to rely upon before he starts his first-ever Super Bowl in his second NFL season.
It's been a wild ride for Mr. Irrelevant, the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft. He took over late last season for an injured Jimmy Garoppolo and has been the team's starter ever since. Purdy went 5-0 in the 2022 regular season and 2-0 in the playoffs before suffering a torn UCL in his right elbow during the 2022 NFC Championship Game.
Thankfully, Purdy came back healthy for the start of the 2023 season and led the 49ers to the NFC's No. 1 seed, completing 69.4 percent of his passes for 31 touchdowns (11 interceptions). His 9.6 yards per attempt and 113.0 quarterback rating led the NFL.
After a pair of nail-biting wins in the NFC playoffs, Purdy now finds himself in the Super Bowl against a Kansas City Chiefs team looking to win its third Lombardi Trophy in five years. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. ET in Las Vegas on Sunday.
