National Signing Day 2024: Final Recruit Announcement Schedule and Predictions

Kristopher KnoxFeb 7, 2024

What is perceived as a stellar 2024 recruiting class has largely been settled. Most of the nation's top high school players have already committed to programs, and the majority of commits signed during the early period.

However, some situations remain unsettled heading into Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the regular signing period.

5-star athlete Terry Bussey of Timpson (Texas), for example, has been committed to Texas A&M since September but has also made recent visits to Georgia and LSU. He's expected to make an official decision as early as Wednesday, and several recruits are scheduled to make announcements on Wednesday, according to Rivals.

Below, we'll dive into some of the latest recruiting buzz, examine the known commitment announcements and make a few predictions for this year's top unsigned players.

The list of scheduled announcements isn't extensive, but we do have a few names to watch on Wednesday.

According to Adam Friedman of Rivals, 3-star Norland (Opa Locka, Florida) defensive line prospect Dimitry Nicolas is scheduled to make an announcement at 9 a.m. ET. Nicolas has made a verbal commitment to Auburn but is also considering Michigan State.

3-star wide receiver Joshua Jackson of St. Augustine (New Orleans, Louisiana) is scheduled to make his decision at 11:30 a.m. ET and is reportedly deciding between UAB, Penn State and Toledo.

Manatee (Bradenton, Florida) defensive lineman and 3-star recruit Tyreek'e Robinson is scheduled to make an announcement at 2:45 p.m. ET and is reportedly deciding between Central Florida and Colorado.

3-star defensive lineman Keona White of Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, Arizona) is scheduled to announce his decision at 5 p.m. ET. He will reportedly choose between Nebraska, Michigan State and UCLA.

Bussey is scheduled to make his announcement at 10 a.m. ET, according to On3.

Predictions for Top Unsigned Recruits

There are a few top recruits worth tracking, even if they're not entirely undecided.

Bussey, for example, is 247Sports' 11th-ranked recruit, and his decision looms large. He could stay committed to Texas A&M, but a strong late push from LSU could have him flipping at the eleventh hour.

"We have a great relationship and I talk to them every day," Bussey said of LSU, per On3's Shea Dixon.

The prediction here is that Bussey indeed switches to LSU on Wednesday morning.

Saraland (Alabama) receiver Ryan Williams is the fourth-ranked recruit on 247Sports' board and is expected to sign with Alabama. However, his situation isn't entirely settled. He decommitted from Alabama shortly after Nick Saban's retirement but appears to be back in with the Crimson Tide following the hiring of Kalen DeBoer.

"I believe in coach DeBoer and he believes in me," Williams said, per Jerry Humphrey III of the Montgomery Advertiser.

Similarly, Centennial (Peoria, Arizona) edge-rusher and 4-star recruit Noah Carter appears set to follow DeBoer. He decommitted from Washington after DeBoer left for Alabama and committed to the Crimson Tide last month.

Neither Williams nor Carter have officially signed yet, but the prediction here is that both sign with Alabama sooner than later.

The additions of Williams and Carter should be enough to solidify Alabama's class as one of the best. According to 247Sports, the Crimson Tide have the No. 2 recruiting class, trailing only Georgia.
