Celebrity Flag Football Game 2024: Team Rosters and Preview for RG3 vs. Tracy McGrady
Robert Griffin III is coming to the Las Vegas area looking for revenge during Super Bowl LVIII week. The former NFL quarterback (and current ESPN analyst) will have an opportunity to get it Thursday night in Henderson, Nev.
Griffin will again be participating in the Celebrity Flag Football Challenge, which is holding its 24th edition of the annual event. Last year, Griffin captained a team that lost 80-74 to a squad captained by Basketball Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady.
RG3 and T-Mac will again meet on the gridiron as opposing captains on Thursday at the Dollar Loan Center. The game will air live at 10 p.m. ET on the Celebrity Sweat YouTube channel, in addition to Cox TV and the American Forces Network.

McGrady is no stranger to this flag football event. Not only was he a captain last year, but he was named MVP of the game in 2020.
Griffin has less experience in the event, as the 2023 iteration marked his first appearance. But he could tell it was going to be competitive before even stepping onto the field for last year's game in Glendale, Ariz.
"It's the Super Bowl before the Super Bowl," Griffin said before last year's flag football contest, according to Vincent Deangelis of Cronkite News.
There will be some standout athletes on RG3's team. The roster includes his wife, Grete, as well as Mattison, the only active NFL player who will be participating.
But T-Mac's team has some accomplished flag football players. In addition to McGrady, Diaz is also a former MVP of the event, having received the honor in 2021.
While the game should be fun and competitive, those aren't the only reasons the event is held every year during Super Bowl week.
The celebrity flag football game will feature first responders and military service members as special guests in attendance. It's an opportunity for them to interact with current and former athletes, actors, celebrities and more.
It's also an exciting time for the fans who will pack the stands for the contest.

Who will be victorious in this rematch between Griffin and McGrady? The former may have more actual football experience, but McGrady has more than held his own in past flag football competitions.
