Puppy Bowl 2024: Date, Starting Lineup, TV Schedule and More
Who needs Brock Purdy and Patrick Mahomes when you can have Bark Purdy and Patrick Mabones?
Bark, a Chihuahua mix from the SPCA in Sacramento, California, and Mabones, a hound mix from AHeinz57 Pet Rescue and Transport in De Soto, Iowa, are two of the 131 puppies competing for the Lombarky trophy during Sunday's Puppy Bowl.
The canine competition, which takes place hours before Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers face Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, is the largest Puppy Bowl in history. Puppies from 73 shelters and rescues from 36 states and territories will be featured on the field, according to Discovery.
The 20th edition of the game is set to make Puppy Bowl history as it features the smallest competitor ever to compete as well as an induction ceremony for the inaugural class of the Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame.
Here's everything you need to know to in order to tune into the furriest football game of the year.

Puppy Bowl XX Preview
2 of 2
Sunday's cuddly competition doesn't just feature the largest number of players, but also the smallest competitor in Puppy Bowl history.
Sweetpea, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle mix, will join Bark Purdy and Team Ruff as they look to take the Lombarky from Patrick Mabones and Team Fluff.
Also joining Mabones on Team Fluff are players including Guy Fureri, a Shepherd and Poodle mix from One Tail at A Time in Chicago, Illinois and Beignet, a Dachsund mix from Take Paws Rescue in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Bark and Team Fluff are highlighted by Levi, a 70-pound Great Dane from Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy, Virginia who weighs in at the top of the competition and Cronut, a Shar Pei from the Shar-Pei Rescue of Virginia in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Both teams have dogs that haven't let disabilities stop them from joining the competition. Moosh, an Australian Shepherd mix from Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy, Virginia, is deaf. Mr. Bean, a Papillon mix from the Barky Pines Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in West Palm Beach, Florida, was born without front legs.
The competition also features three other deaf dogs and a dog with cerebellar hypoplasia, according to Animal Planet.
The game will be referred by Dan Schachner, who is in his 13th year officiating the event, as well as his new assistant puppy Whistle.
There's a reason Puppy Bowl XX has been called the "puppiest Puppy Bowl" in history.
Instead of human coaches, camera and light operators, stage managers and directors, the production will be entirely managed by puppies, according to a press release.
The game will also feature four former players returning for induction into the Puppy Bowl Hall of Fame.
Puppy Bowl action doesn't just start at Sunday's kickoff.
In the week heading into the event, viewers can vote for their favorite member of the sixteen-dog starting lineup in a bracket-based competition that will result in one puppy being crowned the "Most Pupular" of 2024.
The bracket can be found at Discovery.com.
