Justin Madubuike Gets Ravens' Franchise Tag; Will Make $22M on Contract
The Baltimore Ravens have placed the franchise tag on Pro Bowl defensive lineman Justin Madubuike, and he is now set to make $22 million in 2024.
The Ravens selected Madubuike with a third-round draft pick in 2020. The former Texas A&M star became a full-time starter one year later.

Madubuike gradually got better each season and racked up 5.5 sacks in 2022. He then enjoyed a breakout year in his fourth NFL season, amassing career-highs with 13 sacks, 56 tackles (38 solo), 33 quarterback hits and 12 tackles for loss.
He was arguably the most invaluable member of a Ravens' defense that allowed the NFL's fewest points per game.
It's clear Baltimore understands his value to the team, especially based on general manager Eric DeCosta's comments to reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine on Feb. 27.
Ultimately, there's every reason to believe that Madubuike will build off his tremendous 2023 season and continue his excellence for Baltimore, which will certainly benefit from his pass-rushing and run-stopping abilities.
