Christian McCaffrey's Mom Gifted Super Bowl Suite by Olivia Culpo After Comments

San Francisco 49ers superstar running back Christian McCaffrey's mom will be watching Super Bowl LVIII in style.

Olivia Culpo, who is engaged to McCaffrey, posted on Instagram that she had gotten Lisa McCaffrey a suite for her birthday. The gesture came after Lisa McCaffrey said this week that neither her son nor Culpo could afford one for the matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

"We looked into a suite and none of us can afford it," Lisa said on her Your Mom podcast (h/t Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post). "Not even Christian, money bags over thereโ€”nor money bags Olivia. So, we're not in a suite, I'll tell you that right now."

McCaffrey and the Niners came from behind to beat the Detroit Lions 34-31 in the NFC Championship Game last week, meaning McCaffrey will play in his first Super Bowl and the 49ers will play in their second Super Bowl in the past five seasons.

Lisa noted that she and her family were in a suite to witness Christian and the 49ers winning the NFC title last week, and that she watched all of Christian's games from a suite this season.

The Super Bowl is a different animal from all other games, though, as evidenced by the fact that the "get-in" price for a single ticket at this year's Super Bowl is $8,000 alone, per Tess DeMeyer of The Athletic.

Christian McCaffrey began his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers, but after a couple of injury-plagued campaigns, the Panthers traded him to the 49ers in the middle of last season.

Carolina previously signed him to a four-year, $64 million contract in 2021, which is a hefty deal for a running back.

McCaffrey has more than lived up to that contract with the Niners, as he racked up 1,459 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns, plus 67 receptions for 564 yards and seven touchdowns this season, putting him in the conversation for NFL MVP and perhaps making him the front-runner for NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

At Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11, McCaffrey and the 49ers will look to take down a Chiefs team led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and head coach Andy Reid that is attempting to win its third Super Bowl in the past five seasons.

If the 49ers win, McCaffrey will follow in the footsteps of his his dad, former NFL wide receiver Ed McCaffrey, who won a Super Bowl with the Niners in 1994 before winning two more with the Denver Broncos later in his career.
