NFL Rumors: Jaguars' Nick Holz Hired as Titans' New OC Under Brian Callahan

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan has found his offensive coordinator for the 2024 season.

Per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jacksonville Jaguars passing game coordinator Nick Holz has been tabbed to run the Titans' offense.

ESPN's Turron Davenport reported on Thursday that Baltimore Ravens defensive backs coach Dennard Wilson was being hired as Tennessee's defensive coordinator.

Callahan was a bit of a surprise hire by the Titans. The 39-year-old spent the past five seasons as offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, but head coach Zac Taylor was the play-caller.

During his introductory press conference, Callahan confirmed he will call plays for the Titans' offense.

This will be Holz's first time as an offensive coordinator in the NFL. He had one year of experience in that role at the college level with UNLV in 2022.

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson hired Holz as passing game coordinator in February 2023 after Jim Bob Cooter was named offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts.

Jacksonville's passing offense ranked ninth in yards per game (242.7) and completion percentage (66.5) this season.

Holz did have 10 years of coaching experience in the NFL before 2023. He was on the staff for the Oakland Raiders from 2012 to '21, going from an offensive assistant to assistant wide receivers coach.

One of Holz's primary tasks with the Titans in 2024 will be the development of Will Levis. The 24-year-old quarterback showed flashes of promise during his rookie season with 1,808 passing yards and eight touchdowns in nine starts.

Next season is going to be something of a rebuilding year in Tennessee. Derrick Henry and DeAndre Hopkins are both set to hit free agency and may not return.

As long as Levis proves he's capable of being a quality starter in the NFL, everything else will be icing on the cake for the Titans.
