Jordan Love Contract Extension Eyed by Packers GM: Important to Have Stability at QB
After a successful first year as the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback, Jordan Love could be in for a contract extension soon.
Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said the team hopes to start working toward a long-term deal for Love over the offseason.
"I think we'll go down that road," Gutekunst told reporters. "I think, certainly, that'll be important for our football team to have some stability there. Jordan and his representation, I think they're really good people, so we'll start working towards that sometime in the next couple months."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Love is set to enter the final year of his rookie contract, and he's in line to make $13.5 million in 2024. The fourth-year quarterback threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions this season.
The Packers are not used to major shake-ups at quarterback, with Aaron Rodgers occupying that role from 2008 to 2022, but Love seamlessly made the transition and found success in his first year as a full-time starter.
The Packers managed to make a playoff run this season, as Green Bay won seven of its last 10 games. From there, the Packers pulled off a huge upset over the Dallas Cowboys in the wild-card round. Green Bay's run ended at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers, but the Packers didn't go down easily, losing by just three points.
Now heading into Year 2 with Love as the starter, Gutekunst clearly believes Love is capable of leading them to success.
