NFL Rumors: Josh Reynolds, Broncos Agree to 2-Year Contract Worth Up to $14M

Josh Reynolds is moving on from the Detroit Lions.

The veteran wide receiver has reportedly agreed to a two-year contract worth up to $14 million with the Denver Broncos in free agency, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Reynolds began his NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 after the franchise selected him in the fourth round of the draft. He spent four seasons with the franchise, catching 113 passes for 1,450 yards and nine touchdowns in 64 games.

The 29-year-old then signed with the Tennessee Titans as a free agent ahead of the 2021 season, but he couldn't break into the rotation, catching just 10 passes for 90 yards in five games before being placed on waivers.

The Lions claimed Reynolds off waivers and he went on to catch 19 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns in seven games with the franchise. He followed that up with 38 catches for 479 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games during the 2022 season.

Reynolds put together the best season of his Detroit career in 2023, catching 40 passes for 608 yards and five scores in 17 games.

Now with the Broncos, Reynolds will serve as the team's second option behind Courtland Sutton.

As for the Lions, they'll continue to rely on Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams out wide. Tight end Sam LaPorta should also continue to be a top target for Jared Goff following an impressive rookie season that saw him catch 86 passes for 889 yards and 10 touchdowns in 17 games.

That said, the franchise will still need a replacement for Reynolds, whether that be an in-house option such as Kalif Raymond or an option in free agency. Considering the team came close to a Super Bowl berth last season, it'll be interesting to see how they intend to fill the void.
