Mario Chalmers Rips Tristan Thompson for Past Criticism, Says He's 'On Sucker S--t'
Former NBA guard Mario Chalmers ripped Tristan Thompson over comments the Cleveland Cavaliers center made on Draymond Green's podcast last year.
"I don't like Tristan Thompson…because of what he said about me when he went on Draymond Green's podcast, saying 'Rio's probably trying to call LeBron to get a job,'" Chalmers said on The OGs Show, presented by Playmaker HQ. "Like what? He went on Draymond's after all that [Chalmer's comments on LeBron James] went viral…Bro, you was the same person that saw me in the G League. Like 'Rio, welcome back. I love you dah dah dah dah.' Now you going back and saying that I'm bashing my teammate. I hate when people be on sucker s--t bro. I didn't say anything about him. I said how people viewed him. So now that you got a beef with me, now you saying all this stuff about me. Oh okay cool. I didn't start this. I didn't say nothing about you."
Thompson ripped Chalmers last year after the former Miami Heat guard said players do not fear LeBron James in the same way they did Michael Jordan.
"That s--t pissed me off … guys be on some sucka s--t," Thompson said. "Mario Chalmers, at one point you were probably texting LeBron to get on a team and get a job …This is the best player you've ever been on the court with."
Chalmers played with James on the Heat from 2010 to 2014, winning two NBA championships. His career was derailed after suffering a torn Achilles in 2016 with the Memphis Grizzlies and then bounced around playing basketball in the G League and overseas, most recently with Zamboanga Valientes in the Philippines.
Thompson played with James during the latter's second stint in Cleveland from 2014 to 2018 and then with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023.
