Tom Brady Game-Used Super Bowl 49 Footballs to Be Auctioned; Expected to Sell for $1M

Two footballs that legendary quarterback Tom Brady used to throw touchdown passes in Super Bowl XLIX are going up for auction.

According to TMZ Sports, the Gotta Have Rock and Roll auction house is preparing to sell two pieces of history from the New England Patriots' legendary 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

The first is a ball Brady used to throw a second-quarter touchdown pass to tight end Rob Gronkowski, which tied Brady with San Francisco 49ers legend Joe Montana for the most touchdown passes in Super Bowl history with 11.

Also getting auctioned is Brady's fourth-quarter touchdown-pass ball thrown to wide receiver Danny Amendola, which gave Brady the Super Bowl touchdown record and shrunk the New England deficit from 10 to three.

That ball is signed by both Brady and Amendola, and it is inscribed "Super Bowl XLIX Game Used TD Ball." The piece will also include a letter written by Amendola to ensure the ball's authenticity.

Per TMZ, people with Gotta Have Rock and Roll believe each football will reach the $1 million mark at auction, which is set to end on Feb. 23.

Brady went on to throw his fourth touchdown pass of the game with just 2:02 remaining, giving the Patriots a 28-24 lead. Famously, the Seahawks drove down the field right after and were seemingly about to go in for the game-winning score when Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler intercepted Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson at the goal line to preserve New England's win.

That game marked Brady's fourth of seven career Super Bowl wins, and he also won his third of five career Super Bowl MVP awards.

As arguably the greatest quarterback of all time and a future Hall of Famer, Brady's memorabilia is always highly sought after, but it tends to reach another level when the memorabilia is related to one of his Super Bowl triumphs.
