Conor McGregor Teases Return at UFC 300, Michael Chandler Wants Fight at Historic PPV
Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler are teasing the possibility of a fight at the historic UFC 300 event in April.
McGregor had announced that he would fight Chandler June 29, however he hinted Friday night that he would have interest in being involved with UFC 300.
In response, Chandler said that he would accept the fight.
None of this is official or on the schedule. The current main card for UFC 300 is a lightweight bout between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway.
Still, the potential to see McGregor back in the octagon is surely something UFC fans are hoping to see, and an earlier date would be one many are hoping for. While Chandler appears to be the likely opponent for McGregor's next fight, a potential third matchup with Diaz could also be interesting, with Diaz responding to McGregor's message as well.
McGregor has not fought since 2021 due to injury, when he lost to Dustin Poirier via a knockout. It was his second consecutive loss to Poirier and it was his third loss in his last four fights.
He has a 22-6 overall record and is also a fan favorite and someone who will provide plenty of buzz. Chandler has a 23-8 record and a fight between the two is inevitable. Whether it happens at UFC 300 or later in the year is the only question.
