For the first time since 2005, fans in Melbourne won't be treated to Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, or Roger Federer in the Australian Open men's singles final.

Instead, they'll see Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev facing off for the first time in a Grand Slam setting.

The final will start on Sunday, January 28, at 3:30 a.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN, with streaming available on the ESPN App.

The world No. 4, Jannik Sinner, knocked off world No. 1 Novak Djokovic 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-3 in the 2024 Australian Open Semifinals, ending the Serbian's 33-match winning streak and 2,195 days without a loss at the Australian Open, denying him his historic quest for a 25th Grand Slam title.

Sinner joins Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer as the only other players to defeat Djokovic in the Davis Cup, ATP Finals, and Grand Slam level, needing just 72 days to accomplish this feat, and becomes the first ever Italian, male or female, to reach an Australian Open Final.

The Italian youngster did not surrender a service break against Djokovic and has dropped just one set this entire tournament.

On the other side, Daniil Medvedev is in the Australian Open Final for the third time in four years.

Medvedev is still looking for his first title in Melbourne and second overall after notoriously blowing a two-set lead against Rafael Nadal in the 2022 Australian Open Final.

The No. 3 seed's journey has not been easy, and he enters this match off the heels of a thrilling two-set come-from-behind victory against Alexander Zverev, his third fifth-set match of this tournament.

To reach this point, Medvedev has relied on his dominant baseline game and stellar return game, traits that have often helped him excel on hard-court surfaces.

Though, Sinner enters this match with much fresher legs, which will most likely be the difference in a matchup between two players who will likely engage in a plethora of lengthy and physical baseline rallies.

After losing the first six matches of his career against Medvedev, Sinner has won the last three head-to-head, and this is again his moment.

Prediction: Sinner defeats Medvedev in four sets.
