Jayson Tatum, Celtics Wow NBA Fans in Win vs. Heat Despite Kristaps Porziņģis Injury
As NBA rivalry week rolled on, the Boston Celtics handled the Miami Heat comfortably 143-110 on Thursday.
Jayson Tatum led the way with 26 points, Jaylen Brown had 18 and Jrue Holiday added 17. Star center Kristaps Porziņģis had 19 before exiting in the third quarter with a sprained left ankle.
Boston's offense was in full force Thursday, hitting 22 three-pointers on 55% from deep and shooting at a season-high 63.7% from the field. The Celtics also became the first team in NBA history to have five players with three three-pointers and three two-pointers made in a game.
After the Celtic's route of the Heat, fans had high praise for the frontrunner in the East.
With the win, the Celtics 35-10 on the season, which is still good for the best record in the league, and they hold a comfortable lead in the Eastern Conference.
Boston is hoping Porziņģis' injury isn't serious, as the big man has been crucial to the team's success this year, but aside from that, it was an all around positive night for the Celtics.
