NBA Unveils 2024 All-Star Game Uniforms for East vs. West Format

On the same day the starters for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be announced, the league has unveiled the jerseys players will be wearing for the midseason showcase.

The Jordan Brand jerseys are red for the Western Conference and blue for the Eastern Conference.

Per NBA.com, the design of the uniforms is meant to "celebrate the league and rich basketball history of Indiana."

Players will also wear specially-designed Hoosier-inspired warm-ups before the game.

"Designed from the idea that basketball was raised in Indiana, the uniforms are rooted in a nostalgic, heritage look that feature a tonal twist on the classic red and blue uniforms with cream lettering. The pinstripes are inspired by the iconic Pacers uniforms in the late 1990s and early 2000s," NBA.com stated.

This year marks the first time the All-Star Game will be contested using the East-West format since 2017. The league had been using teams captained by the top vote-getter in each conference for the past five seasons. The captains also drafted their teams prior to the game.

Commissioner Adam Silver announced in October the traditional East-West format was being brought back.

The league also did away with the Elam Ending that had been used in the All-Star Game since 2020. This year's contest will feature the standard four 12-minute quarters to determine a winner.

Based on the most recent fan voting, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James are the leading contenders to start. Nikola Jokić, Kevin Durant, Luka Dončić and Stephen Curry round out potential starters in the Western Conference.

Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Tyrese Haliburton and Trae Young could be the four Eastern Conference starters alongside Antetokounmpo.

If Haliburton is voted in as a starter, he will be the first All-Star starter in his home arena since Kemba Walker in 2019 when he was a member of the Charlotte Hornets and the game was played at Spectrum Center.

The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will be played on Feb. 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. This is the first time since 1985 that Indiana is hosting the event when it was played at the Hoosier Dome.
