Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes on Travis Kelce's Fame: 'Just Been Himself the Whole Time'

Paul KasabianJan 24, 2024

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters that teammate and tight end Travis Kelce has stayed humble and down-to-Earth despite the massive fame that has come with him dating Taylor Swift.

"Travis has always been Travis," Mahomes said, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "It's been cool to watch for me because he has all that attention but he's just been himself the whole time. He's still Travis Kelce. He still will walk through the stadium and treat every single person like they're his best friend. And he's going to be like that in the locker room every single day. It hasn't been any different."

Kelce has also gained notoriety after hosting Saturday Night Live last spring. His New Heights podcast alongside brother and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is the most popular sports podcast as well.

For now, Kelce has his sights on a potential third Super Bowl victory. He just scored two touchdowns to help lead the Chiefs to a 27-24 win over the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional round. Now Kansas City is headed to Baltimore to play the No. 1 seed Ravens on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET.
