Kirk Cousins, Bill Belichick Eyed as 'Great Fit' with Falcons by Insider amid Rumors
In addition to potentially landing Bill Belichick as their next head coach, at least one NFL executive thinks the Atlanta Falcons will sign Kirk Cousins to be their quarterback for the 2024 season.
One AFC executive told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler a Belichick-Cousins pairing would go a long way toward getting the Falcons back to the playoffs.
"[Belichick] can help a talented yet underachieving team, and Atlanta is that," the executive said. "Cousins would be a great fit there."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Falcons seem to have zeroed in on Belichick as their preferred head-coaching candidate. He was the first candidate to complete two interviews with the team.
Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris had his second interview with the Falcons on Tuesday.
Per The Athletic's Josh Kendall, Belichick's candidacy has "lost momentum" in the last week.
It's unclear exactly what that means as far as the team maybe being more intrigued by other options or perhaps Belichick wanting to explore more options.
Belichick hasn't met with any other teams that have a coaching vacancy, nor does he have any interviews scheduled with those clubs at this point.
The Falcons have second interviews scheduled with several candidates, including Jim Harbaugh, Aaron Glenn, Ben Johnson and Bobby Slowik.
Cousins' pending free agency is going to be a big focus of the offseason. He was in the midst of arguably his best season before suffering a torn Achilles in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers.
It would be a natural fit for the Falcons to pair Belichick and Cousins if they go in that direction. Belichick's defensive acumen should help improve their performance on that side of the ball.
Cousins, while he has certain limitations that keep him from being an elite quarterback, is incredibly reliable. He threw for at least 3,600 yards and 20 touchdowns in eight consecutive seasons prior to 2023.
The Falcons have a deep group of skill-position players who have been waiting to have competent quarterback play to unlock their abilities. Cousins in the same offense with Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts and Drake London would be a big problem for many teams to contain.
