Udonis Haslem Says Kevin Durant Would Lose to Duncan Robinson in Shooting Contest
Udonis Haslem is fiercely loyal to the Miami Heat, so it shouldn't be a surprise that he backed one of his former teammates in a hypothetical shooting competition against one of the best players in the world.
While speaking on The OGs Show, Haslem declared that he believes Heat sharpshooter Duncan Robinson could beat Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant if it came down to shooting alone.
"We ain't saying scorers, we ain't saying basketball players," Haslem said. "The word upstairs says shooters. Shooters! In a shooting competition, Duncan Robinson, yes, I think he would beat KD."
Robinson is a three-point specialist, as 7.0 of his 10.4 field goal attempts come from beyond the arc this season. He's averaging a career-high 13.7 points while shooting 41.1 percent from three-point range, the second-best mark of his career.
Despite Robinson receiving a vote of confidence from Haslem, Durant would give him a run for his money. The 35-year-old is shooting a career-high 46.4 percent from beyond the arc this season, proving he isn't slowing down in the slightest.
One of Durant's teammates came to his defense, as Suns center Jusuf Nurkic responded to the video of Haslem with a simple meme:
The Suns and the Heat will meet on Jan. 29, so Robinson and Durant won't have to wait too long to test Haslem's theory.
