Buffalo Bills kicker Tyler Bass' heartbreaking missed field goal led to the Buffalo Bills falling to the Kansas City Chiefs by the final score of 27-24 in the divisional round on Sunday night.

With the Bills trailing by three points and less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Bass lined up to attempt a 44-yard field goal to tie the game. Unfortunately for Bass and Bills fans, the kick sailed wide right and was no good.

The Chiefs gained a first down on the following possession before quarterback Patrick Mahomes kneeled out the clock.

Josh Allen delivered a commendable performance in spite of the defeat, throwing for 186 yards and a touchdown on a cold evening at Highmark Stadium. He added another 72 yards and two more touchdowns on the ground with just 12 attempts. However, he has now lost in the playoffs to Mahomes for the third time in as many tries.

NFL fans were shocked by Bass' costly miss, bringing back memories of Scott Norwood's infamous missed field goal during Buffalo's Super Bowl loss in 1991.

Bass had previously made 26 of his 31 field goal attempts from 40-49 yards throughout his career. The Bills have now been eliminated in the divisional round for three consecutive years, as Buffalo's AFC East-winning season finished with a brutal ending.
