Brock Purdy Says Weather, Rain Impacted Accuracy in 49ers' Win vs. Love, Packers

The San Francisco 49ers overcame rainy conditions at Levi's Stadium to earn a 24-21 comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers in Saturday's NFC Divisional Round Game.

Afterward, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy admitted the weather affected his play throughout the game.

"There were sometimes where I'm dropping back and the ball was a little wet from the grass, and it sort of affected some accuracy and stuff," Purdy said, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner. "But that's football, so I've got to be better in that area."

Purdy completed 23 of his 39 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's victory. He wore a glove on his throwing hand to start the game because the rain made it difficult for him to grip the ball. He eventually got rid of the glove because he said he was "fed up" with it.

Despite his struggles, Purdy engineered a 12-play, 69-yard drive that culminated with star running back Christian McCaffrey scoring a go-ahead touchdown with 1:07 left in the game. Purdy was 6-of-7 for 47 yards on the drive and also scrambled to pick up a key first down that helped set up McCaffrey's game-winner.

Thanks to the heroics from Purdy and McCaffrey, the 49ers will be playing in their third consecutive NFC Championship Game next Sunday. They will host the winner of the divisional-round matchup between the Detroit Lions and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
