Packers vs. 49ers: Daily Fantasy Sleepers, Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings

Joe TanseyJan 20, 2024

The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the most popular teams among daily fantasy football players all season.

Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel should be rostered in a majority of DFS contests across FanDuel and DraftKings on Saturday.

The 49ers trio will make for a good lineup stack in either single-game or two-game contests for Saturday's divisional round games.

The rest of the roster around the popular 49ers will be vital to placing inside the money-winning positions.

If San Francisco dominates, like it has many times this season, the Green Bay Packers passing game should be a target of DFS players.

Jordan Love has a robust set of options to work with, and because of that, Green Bay's top wide out, Jayden Reed, did not have a catch in the wild-card win over the Dallas Cowboys.

Reed will be needed to upset the 49ers, so he should be a popular DFS selection, but he is not the only Green Bay pass-catcher to trust.

Build Lineup Around San Francisco's Stars

Sometimes the most obvious DFS strategy is the easiest one to follow.

Purdy, McCaffrey and Samuel will be at the center of almost everything the 49ers offense does.

McCaffrey will likely act as a free space in DFS lineups on Saturday because of his high production level.

The 49ers running back earned 1,459 rushing yards, 564 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns in the regular season.

McCaffrey earned at least 10 carries and two receptions in all three of San Francisco's playoff games last season.

Samuel comes into Saturday with 14.9 yards per catch in his postseason career, which is highlighted by a 133-yard outing against the Seattle Seahawks in last year's wild-card round.

Samuel should be Purdy's No. 1 target in the passing game and he will be integrated into the rushing attack at some point as well.

The San Francisco triumvirate will produce a ton of points, and if you roster all three players, your final placing in DFS contests will come down to the variety in your lineup.

Trust Jayden Reed After Wild Card Shutout

Jayden Reed's goose egg against the Cowboys stunned a lot of DFS players.

Reed entered AT&T Stadium off a four-catch, 112-yard Week 18 performance against the Chicago Bears.

He was Jordan Love's go-to guy in December while Christian Watson was out injured.

Watson did not take up much of Reed's production last weekend. Romeo Doubs, Bo Melton and Luke Musgrave were Love's top targets.

Love may not be able to win inside Levi's Stadium without relying on Reed at some point.

After all, this is a 64-catch, eight-touchdown wide receiver we are talking about.

Reed should be comfortably placed into DFS lineups, especially those with a Green Bay stack led by Love and Aaron Jones.

He could also be a vital part of lineups that feature McCaffrey and Samuel to bring some variety to those rosters.

No matter which way you build your lineup, Reed should be in it because a second straight shutout is highly unlikely.

Find Sleepers in Green Bay's Passing Game

There are no secrets about the San Francisco offense.

Purdy, McCaffrey, Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle will account for most, if not all, of the offensive production.

All of those players are known quantities to hardcore DFS players and those who just check in for the postseason.

Any sleeper value in Saturday night's game comes from the Packers roster because Love sprayed the ball around in the passing game.

Six different Packers caught a pass in the win over Dallas. Seven players had at least one target from Love in his first playoff start.

Bo Melton is the most fascinating sleeper option because he carries the lowest DFS salary of the Packers wide receiver corps.

Melton only had one catch for seven yards against Dallas, but he entered that game with three-straight 40-yard performances.

Melton and Dontayvion Wicks may be pushed down the depth chart because of Christian Watson's return, but look for both players to feature at some point in the Green Bay passing game.

Wicks had a pair of catches for 25 yards and a touchdown last week and he enters Saturday with four touchdowns in his last three games.
