He's garnered respect from the players in the locker room, with standout pass-rusher Maxx Crosby and All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams both voicing their support for him to have the interim tag dropped from his title (via ESPN's Paul Gutierrez).
"I mean, he's come in and done a great job and he's continued to win us over," Adams said ahead of Las Vegas' Week 18 matchup with the Denver Broncos. "It's not just the comfortable thing; I think having [Antonio Pierce] here will be good for this organization. He kind of embodies what it means to be a Raider and that mentality, that swag and all the things that he endorses is the things that I believe in."
Raiders fans were overjoyed by the news.
The Raiders will now attempt to improve upon their 8-9 record in 2023 and make the playoffs for the first time since the 2021 season. With Pierce patrolling the sidelines, Las Vegas should look to jump out to a better start during the team's 2024 campaign.
