Warriors vs. Jazz Postponed After Assistant Dejan Milojević Dies at Age 46
The NBA has postponed Wednesday night's game between the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz following the death of Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojević.
The Warriors announced Milojević died Wednesday after suffering a heart attack at a team dinner on Tuesday.
The 46-year-old was in his third season as an assistant on Steve Kerr's staff. He was hired in August 2021 after spending nine years as a head coach for two different teams in Serbia's Adriatic Basketball League from 2012 to '21.
One of the players who was on the Mega Basket roster when Milojević was head coach was Nikola Jokić. The two-time NBA MVP joined the club as a 17-year-old in 2012. He was named ABA MVP during the 2015 season, his final year in Serbia before joining the Denver Nuggets.
Los Angeles Clippers center Ivica Zubac also played under Milojević for Mega Basket in 2016.
Milojević was widely credited with helping Kevon Looney improve his rebounding during the Warriors' postseason run during the 2021-22 season that culminated with them defeating the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Finals.
