Gaethje won the BMF title by defeating Dustin Poirier by knockout with a head kick in the main event of UFC 291 in July. It was originally believed that he would be next in line to face lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, but Makhachev is injured and won't be available until the summer. Instead, former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will take on Arman Tsarukyan in a No. 1 contender's fight at UFC 300.
Holloway is a longtime featherweight who held the title at 145 pounds from 2017 to 2019. The last time he fought at 155 pounds, he lost to Poirier by unanimous decision in an interim championship fight. He's coming off a knockout victory over Chan-Sung Jung in August.
Miller is one of the longest-tenured fighters on the roster, as he holds the UFC records for most bouts, most total wins and most wins in the lightweight division. He extended his records with a third-round submission of Gabriel Benitez this past Saturday, and he has been campaigning for a spot on UFC 300 for quite some time.
Miller got his wish in a fight that was scheduled twice before but never came to fruition. Green is also a longtime member of the lightweight division and one of the most active fighters. He fought four times in 2023, earning victories over Tony Ferguson by submission and Grant Dawson by knockout. Green will be looking to bounce back from his loss to Jalin Turner in December.
