Steelers vs. Bills: Daily Fantasy Sleepers, Lineup Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings
The postponement of the Pittsburgh Steelers-Buffalo Bills AFC wild-card game to Monday will benefit daily fantasy football players.
The blizzard conditions that occurred on Sunday in upstate New York would have produced an ugly football game, and in turn, an avoidance of the Steelers-Bills contest from the DFS perspective.
Monday afternoon's contest will still be played in frigid temperatures, but there will at least be a chance for both offenses to thrive.
The Bills offense will receive more attention in FanDuel and DraftKings contests because of how that unit performed in recent weeks.
Josh Allen should be the most rostered quarterback in single-game contests and in two-game slates on Monday.
Pittsburgh's running back tandem of Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren should receive the most DFS attention from that roster with Mason Rudolph starting again at quarterback.
The best potential sleepers likely lie on the Buffalo roster, and if you can figure out who replaces Gabe Davis' production, you could finish high on a DFS leaderboard.
Josh Allen Should Be Centerpiece of Most Lineups
1 of 3
Allen is the most healthy and reliable quarterback on Monday's two-game slate.
The Bills quarterback is by far the more trustworthy signal-caller in his matchup with the Steelers.
Allen is coming off a 359-yard passing and 67-yard rushing performance in Week 18 against the Miami Dolphins.
He likely will not hit those numbers in the New York cold, but he will hurt the Steelers defense in both aspects of the offense.
T.J. Watt's absence from the Steelers pass rush could open up more rushing lanes, or give Allen more time to throw on some occasions.
Allen will be without Gabe Davis, who has had plenty of standout playoff performances in his career, but he still has Stefon Diggs, Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox to work with in the passing game.
The Buffalo offense should not skip a beat, and if Allen plays up to his high standard, he will finish the game with the highest DFS point total on either roster.
Look to Pittsburgh's Running Back Tandem
2 of 3
Pittsburgh's offensive game plan should be clear.
The Steelers will want to rely on the Najee Harris-Jaylen Warren tandem to take time off the clock and keep the ball out of Allen's hands.
The less time the Bills crowd has a chance to cheer on its offense the better in the eyes of Mike Tomlin's team.
Harris is the preferred DFS selection over Warren, if you have to choose between the two players, because he ran the ball over 20 times in each of the last two weeks.
Harris produced a pair of 100-yard games against the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens. Both games took place on the road.
Pittsburgh's top ball-carrier also scored on three occasions in those two contests.
Warren's value comes as a pass-catcher. He earned at least four targets in each of the last five games and had at least 13 touches in the last four contests.
Warren will be used as a change-of-pace player in the ground game and as an important safety valve for Mason Rudolph in the passing game.
A pairing of the two running backs should produce a high DFS point total to provide a strong complement to Allen.
Best Sleepers Are on Buffalo Roster
3 of 3
Davis' absence opens up an opportunity for one or two players on the Buffalo offense.
Khalil Shakir is coming off a six-catch, 105-yard performance against Miami and Trent Sherfield scored a touchdown in Week 18.
Shakir will probably earn more targets than Sherfield, but he is not a lock to perform at a high level because Allen could target Diggs, Kincaid and Knox more.
Both Shakir and Sherfield played over 70 percent of the snaps last week, so at least they will be on the field to potentially produce.
Leonard Fournette is the ultimate sleeper in both FanDuel and DraftKings contests.
The veteran running back earned 12 carries in the last two weeks and he could be used more in the red zone.
Fournette has nine career playoff touchdowns, and if he adds to that tally on Monday, he could provide the biggest swing on DFS leaderboards.
