Steelers vs. Bills 2024 NFL Playoff Game Won't Be Rescheduled Again Due to Weather

It looks like the Wild Card Round matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Buffalo Bills is an automatic go for Monday.

The matchup was originally scheduled for Sunday but was rescheduled to Monday as a result of the inclement weather in Buffalo on Sunday. Despite similar conditions being projected for Monday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul declared that a second push back would not be an option.

"No, the game will not be pushed back again," Hochul said. "I've spoken to the Commissioner of the NFL several times today. I've spoken to the owner of the Buffalo Bills, again, about their preparations."

The initial rescheduling came from Hochul after she had declared a state of emergency until Monday at 7 a.m. due to the winter storm. The Athletic's Tim Graham had reported that Tuesday was "in play" if the conditions remained dangerous, but Hochul's recent announcement means that the matchup should be set for Monday.

The Bills will host the game after an 11-6 season that saw the team clinch a fourth consecutive AFC East Division title and earn the No. 2 seed in the AFC. Pittsburgh earned the No. 7 seed after a 10-7 season and returns to the postseason for the third time in the last four seasons.

If Buffalo were to win, it would host the Kansas City Chiefs in the divisional round. The winter weather does not forecast as being an issue for that weekend but it would still be something to keep an eye on.

Before that, however, Pittsburgh will look to pull off the upset when the game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET.
