Bucs' Baker Mayfield Questionable for Playoff Game vs. Eagles with Multiple Injuries

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will reportedly have Baker Mayfield under center for Monday night's playoff game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to The Athletic's Jeff Howe, Mayfield "is expected to play" despite being listed as questionable.

The Buccaneers listed Mayfield as questionable for the Monday night matchup with ankle and rib injuries. He did not participate in the team's practice on Thursday and was limited on Friday and Saturday.

Kyle Trask and John Wolford are next on the Buccaneers depth chart at the quarterback position. Wolford has not appeared in 2023 and Trask has attempted just a single pass on the season.

Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales spoke about Mayfield's health Friday and said he was preparing to tailor the offense towards his capabilities with the injury.

"We've got to definitely see what his mobility is like," Canales said, per Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times. "He's still got a couple of days left to kind of see how it moves around. And that definitely will play a factor in terms of the types of plays that are called. In a perfect world, I'd like to say alright, he gives me the thumbs up, he's good (to go) and it's just an open playbook and we could just call our offense."

Mayfield has been a welcome addition to Tampa Bay this year, leading the team to a 9-8 record and a third straight division title. He threw for 4,044 yards with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in the regular season and the Buccaneers enter the postseason as winners of five of the last six games.
