Cowboys' Micah Parsons: NFL Playoffs 'Could Possibly Be My Last Ride' with Dan Quinn

Erin WalshJan 12, 2024

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons is ready to play his tail off for Dan Quinn during the 2024 NFL postseason as it could be his final time playing for the defensive coordinator.

Quinn has emerged as one of the hottest head coaching candidates in the league and he could depart the Cowboys organization this winter with seven head coaching jobs available.

"It's the nature of the business," Parsons said about the possibility of Quinn departing, per Nick Harris of the team's website. "It could possibly be my last ride with Q, and if it is, we're gonna make sure it's a damn good one."

Parsons and Quinn arrived in Dallas together in 2021.

The Cowboys selected Parsons 12th overall in the 2021 draft and hired Quinn following his stint as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015-2020.

Parsons has emerged as one of the best linebackers on one of the best defenses in the NFL under Quinn.

During the 2023 campaign, Parsons posted a career-high 14 sacks to go along with two passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 64 tackles, 18 tackles for loss and 33 quarterback hits in 17 games.

Parsons and the Cowboys are now gearing up for an NFC Wild Card matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The 24-year-old will get a little more time with his defensive coordinator if Dallas can secure a berth in the divisional round for the second straight season.

The Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans are among the teams that have requested an interview with Quinn. The Seattle Seahawks have also been linked to the 53-year-old as they seek a replacement for Pete Carroll.
