Anthony Davis Laments Lakers' 3-Point Defense: Everybody Shoots Well Against Us

The Los Angeles Lakers hit another low on Thursday with a 127-109 blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns in what was a sluggish defensive performance from the Purple and Gold.,

After the game, Anthony Davis was quick to lament the team's poor perimeter defense, which has become a common theme of late:

"Everybody, no matter what their numbers are, shoots well against us," Davis told reporters after the loss. "If a guy is shooting 10 percent, he's gonna shoot 40[percent] against us. Just knowing that. There hasn't been a time where the numbers have told the truth to us when we've played guys.

"So we gotta play everybody like they're Steph [Curry] when they play us because these guys—not just this team—everybody has shot the ball well against us."

Every shot seemingly fell for the Suns, who finished the game having made 49.5 percent of their shots from the floor and 35.9 percent of their shots from deep.

Bradley Beal led all scorers with 37 points, in addition to notching six rebounds, four assists and one steal in the win. Devin Booker finished with 31 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.

As for the Lakers, their best player was D'Angelo Russell, who notched 19 points, one rebound, six assists and two steals. LeBron James finished with 10 points, five rebounds and nine assists while Davis notched 13 points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.

Thursday's loss dropped the Purple and Gold to 19-20 on the season. They sit 10th in the Western Conference and, at this point, it's hard to envision the franchise making a true surge up the standings and playing its way into title contention.
