Bill Belichick Rumors: Commanders Don't Plan on Hiring Former Patriots HC
Despite the team's current head coaching vacancy, the Washington Commanders aren't expected to show interest in Bill Belichick, per Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz.
Schultz also noted that team owner Josh Harris is expected to decide between Ian Cunningham of the Chicago Bears and Adam Peters of the San Francisco 49ers as Washington's new general manager.

Belichick and the New England Patriots agreed to mutually part ways on Thursday, leading to speculation regarding his next head coaching job.
Ron Rivera, Washington's former head coach, was fired following the team's 38-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18. The Commanders finished the 2023 season with a 4-13 record, ending the year on an eight-game losing streak. Rivera went 26-40-1 as Washington's head coach, failing to achieve a winning record in any of his four years with the franchise.
Harris acted quickly to prepare for the search for a head coach as well as a new head of football operations, hiring former Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers and former Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman to join an advisory committee that will help reshape the team's front office and coaching staff (per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski).
Although Harris was reportedly "enamored" with the concept of Belichick coaching his team, it appears that Washington is looking for different options (via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk). While the Commanders will likely focus on filling out their front office before naming a new head coach, they've already begun to show interest in several candidates.
Washington has reportedly requested interviews with Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Baltimore Ravens defensive line coach Anthony Weaver, Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, and Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik (per Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post).
With a decision regarding the team's new general manager coming soon, the Commanders' new head coach could be decided shortly after.
