Pac-12 Football Schedule 2012: Power Conference Releases Division Schedule
The Pac-12 is all done playing football this season. It's time to look forward to the 2012 season
Per the conference's official website, the Pac-12 released its football schedule for the 2012 regular season on Wednesday. The release points out that all Pac-12 games will be featured on national television for the first time in conference history, a reality made possible by its deals with ESPN and Fox.
The Pac-12 slate officially kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 30, when Utah hosts Northern Colorado. The rest of the conference will open on Saturday, Sept. 1.
Pac-12 fans can look forward to several notable games in the early portion of the season. USC visits Stanford on Saturday, Sept. 15, Oregon will pay a visit to Mike Leach's Washington State Cougars on Saturday, Sept. 29, and Stanford and Cal will play the Big Game on Saturday, Oct. 20.
At first glance, the biggest game on the Pac-12 slate is a showdown between Oregon and USC on Saturday, Nov. 3.
Oregon will be looking to follow up its win in the Rose Bowl with a trip back to the BCS National Championship Game, but the Trojans will also be headed in that direction now that they are free of their two-year bowl ban.
Though Oregon and USC seem to be the early favorites to win the Pac-12, don't rule out teams like Washington and Arizona. The Huskies will be led by talented quarterback Keith Price, and the Wildcats are sure to improve in their first year under Rich Rodriguez.
The second Pac-12 Championship Game will take place on Friday, Nov. 30, and will be hosted by the team with the better conference record.
