Travis Kelce's Chef Talks Chiefs Star's Diet; TE Eats 4,000+ Calories on Game Days
Want to play like Travis Kelce?
Well, you might have to eat like him, too.
Kumar Ferguson is Kelce's childhood friend and now the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's personal chef. Tyler Shane of Kansas City magazine profiled Ferguson and the work he does for the NFL star who eats more than 4,000 calories on practice and game days.

"Growing up, I would cook for all the bros after we'd be hanging out all day," Ferguson said. "That kitchen table hangout has always been a center for all of us. We have definitely carried that tradition with us."
As Shane noted, Kelce called his friend in 2016 with the hopes of improving his nutrition.
"I flew out four days later and we haven't looked back since," Ferguson, who was previously a truck driver and hadn't worked as a professional chef, said.
The partnership has clearly worked, as Kelce has been named to the Pro Bowl every year since 2016. His Chiefs have also won two Super Bowls and reached another and have the opportunity to compete for the Lombardi Trophy again this season as AFC West champions.
"Being brothers is funny because we can throw shots at each other all day, but Travis is incredible when it comes to professionalism and just being on top of taking whatever he's investing into," Ferguson said. "The communication has been open from the jump."
The Chiefs play the Miami Dolphins in the Wild Card Round at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, so Kelce will have plenty of time to get his 4,000 calories in before kickoff.
