Report: 4-Year Old Started Fire at Tyreek Hill's Miami Home, Caused $2.3M in Damages

The fire that broke out at Miami Dolphins superstar wide receiver Tyreek Hill's home in the Miami suburb of Southwest Ranches, Florida, last week reportedly caused more than $2 million in damage.

According to TMZ Sports, an incident report states that the house Hill purchased for $6.9 million in 2022 had an estimated value of $5.6 million before the fire. After the fire, it has gone down an estimated $2.3 million in value, plus about $1 million in belongings are believed to have been destroyed in the blaze as well.

Hill, who signed a four-year, $120 million contract extension with the Dolphins in 2022 after getting traded from the Kansas City Chiefs, left practice early last week and returned home when he was informed of the fire.

There were no injuries as a result of the fire, and Hill was able to play in Sunday night's loss to the Buffalo Bills, making seven catches for 82 yards and a touchdown.

The incident report also stated that the fire was caused by two children who were playing with a lighter inside the home.

The children told authorities they thought the lighter was a toy, which they used to accidentally light an actual toy on fire before throwing it and running away.

In the incident report, it was determined that the child primarily responsible for starting the fire is just four years old.

While Hill will have to deal with the ramifications of the fire moving forward as a homeowner, his primary focus over the next week figures to be on Miami's AFC Wild Card Round playoff game.

Hill is set to clash with his former team in the Chiefs, as the Dolphins will go on the road to Kansas City to face the reigning Super Bowl champions in bone-chilling temperatures.

The speedy veteran will perhaps be the biggest key to the Dolphins potentially pulling off an upset, as he led the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns during the regular season.
