Michigan's Harbaugh Wants Profit Sharing for Athletes: 'All Robbing the Same Train'

Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh once again proposed the idea of revenue sharing to benefit student-athletes.

Harbaugh further advocated for student-athletes by saying that everyone involved in college football is "robbing from the same train" but that the players benefit the least.

Harbaugh made the remarks to reporters Saturday, two days before he's set to lead his team against Washington in the National Championship Game.

Harbaugh has long been an advocate for revenue sharing and giving players a bigger piece of the pie, notably making remarks in November about a minimum wage after Michigan offensive lineman Zak Zinter was lost for the season with a broken tibia and fibula.

Harbaugh also had this to say a week later:

He also expressed his thoughts to reporters in a late August press conference, saying in part, per ESPN's Tom VanHaaren:

"We all should be about diversity, equity and inclusion. I'm calling for a system that is fair, equitable and benefits all involved," Harbaugh said in part. "Don't exclude the student-athletes from the profits. My opinion, you can't say you're about diversity, equity and inclusion, if you aren't willing to include the student-athletes in revenue sharing."

Ultimately, it's clear where Harbaugh stands as he continues to support student-athletes receiving more money. For now, he leads his Wolverines into the national championship in hopes of the program's first title since 1997.
