Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: 'I Was Hot' After Being Snubbed for 2024 NFL Pro Bowl

Andrew PetersJan 4, 2024

Amon-Ra St. Brown was not happy after being snubbed from the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl roster.

The Detroit Lions third-year wide receiver felt he should've been included, and he didn't hold back his feelings.

"The receivers that got picked, they're great players, but I was hot," St. Brown said, per ESPN's Eric Woodyard.

His complaints are warranted—he's had an outstanding season. St. Brown has recorded 1,371 receiving yards, which is the fifth most in the NFL this year, along with nine touchdowns. He has eight 100-receiving yard games this season, which is tied for the most in the NFL. CeeDee Lamb, Mike Evans, A.J. Brown and Puka Nacua were included on the NFC's roster over St. Brown.

St. Brown is using the snub as motivation, though. He's ready to come back next season and ensure that his name is on the roster.

"I guess I didn't do enough during the season, so I've got to go harder," St. Brown said.

He could still play in the Pro Bowl, however. As an alternate, there's a good chance that he could sub in for another receiver if the Lions fail to make the Super Bowl. Last season, he replaced Brown, who went to the Super Bowl with the Eagles.

Five of St. Brown's teammates were included on the Pro Bowl roster: tight end Sam LaPorta, center Frank Ragnow, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, tackle Penei Sewell and linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin.

But St. Brown and the Lions are searching for something greater than a Pro Bowl appearance — they're looking to end the season as champions. Detroit is 11-5 heading into the final game of the season and the Lions have already clinched their first division title since 1993.

They're on their way to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and they're searching for their first Super Bowl in franchise history.
