Kylian Mbappé Hasn't Decided on If He'll Sign New PSG Contract amid Transfer Rumors
Kylian Mbappé has been the face of Paris Saint-Germain since 2017, but the Frenchman said Wednesday that he hasn't decided whether he'll sign a new contract with the Parisians or leave on a free transfer this summer.
Mbappé told reporters after a 2-0 win over Toulouse, per ESPN:
"No, to start with I'm very motivated by this year. It's very important. We have titles to win and we have already won one."

"I haven't made my decision yet. I haven't made a choice. With the agreement I had with the president in the summer, my decision is not important as we managed to protect all the parties and preserved the serenity of the club for the challenges to come, which is the most important. So we will say that it [the decision] is secondary."
Mbappé's deal with the Ligue 1 champions runs out this summer after he failed to sign an extension ahead of the 2023-24 season in a saga that included PSG threatening that he must sign or be transferred.
The Parisians held Mbappé out of first team training for weeks amid the contract standoff and he even missed the club's season opener against Lorient before being reinstated into the main squad in mid-August.
As part of a reported agreement reached with PSG last summer, Mbappé "agreed to waive loyalty bonus payments of up to €100 million to protect PSG if he left for nothing," according to ESPN.
Mbappé initially had an opportunity to leave Paris in the summer of 2022, but he declined a move to La Liga side Real Madrid in what was a shocking decision to remain in the French capital with a PSG club that has found little Champions League success.
Real Madrid remain interested in Mbappé and The Athletic's Mario Cortegana reported last month that the club "will make a fresh attempt" to sign him this summer. However, Cortegana added that Real Madrid have made it clear to Mbappé that he must decide whether he wants to join the club by mid-January as they don't want to get burned by him again.
Premier League side Liverpool have also been linked to Mbappé of late. French outlet Le Parisien (h/t The Guardian) reported that The Reds represent "the most credible and dangerous candidate" for the star forward.
The outlet added that Mbappé is "not indifferent" to an Anfield move.
Mbappé has spent nearly his entire career with PSG after joining the club from Monaco in 2017. He is the team's all-time leading scorer and has also won five Ligue 1 titles in Paris.
The 25-year-old is still looking to win a Champions League title, and PSG got a rather favorable draw in the tournament's round of 16 this year. The Parisians will face Real Sociedad next month in the round of 16 first leg.
If Mbappé exits Paris over the summer, it's unclear how the club intends to replace such a prolific scorer.
