2024 NFL Draft Order: Updated First-Round Listings After Week 17
Thanks to a little help on Sunday, the Chicago Bears officially hold the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
It'll be the second straight year that the organization sits at No. 1, although the context is much happier this season. The savvy blockbuster with the Carolina Panthers netted Chicago an extra first-rounder in 2024, and Carolina's struggles means the Bears are up top again.
And now, the Bears have a big decision to make: Keep quarterback Justin Fields or draft Caleb Williams (or Drake Maye)?
As the dust settles on Week 17, Chicago holds the lone clinched spot in an otherwise chaotic sprint to the official draft order.

Going the Wrong Way, Seattle
2 of 3
After a 30-23 loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Seattle Seahawks are on the verge of a painful collapse.
Seattle held a 6-3 record in mid-November but entered a gauntlet that has become very problematic. In this seven-game stretch, the Seahawks are just 2-5. Sunday's setback also knocked the 8-8 squad out of a projected wild-card slot—and from 22nd to 15th in the draft order.
Once again, Seattle needs the Green Bay Packers to lose in Week 18.
The same scenario existed last season when the Seahawks opened the campaign 6-3 but tumbled in the second half. They cratered to 7-8 before sneaking into the playoffs with a pair of wins and assistance from the Detroit Lions, who upset the Packers in the finale.
Seattle travels to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18, while Green Bay hosts Chicago. Both games kick at 4:25 p.m. ET.
Chicago's QB Conundrum
3 of 3
The conversation is simple.
Should the Bears commit to Justin Fields as the long-term quarterback, or should they target a top prospect—widely believed to be USC's Caleb Williams—with the No. 1 pick in the draft?
The decision, however, is anything but easy.
Fields is a talented, mobile QB who can struggle with decisiveness. While the third-year player has repeatedly showed he deserves an NFL starting job, it's fair to say Fields is not performing at the peak of the position. In short: If the Bears feel an upgrade is available, they should take him.
When pressed about his status in 2024 and beyond, the Bears will parrot a familiar line: "We are exploring all options."
Those possible choices are Fields, Williams, North Carolina's Drake Maye—though memories of a No. 10 from UNC who plays quarterback may haunt Bears' fans—and perhaps LSU's Jayden Daniels.
Good luck, Chicago. You're now on the clock.
