TNA Impact Wrestling Preview: A Big Six-Man Tag, a Title Match and More
TNA Wrestling presents its first show of 2012 and what a show it looks like it’ll be.
The company has confirmed three matches and an in-ring segment for tonight’s show.
TNA ended 2011 on a high note, and it's looking to start the New Year with a bang. Let’s see what TNA Wrestling has in store for the fans.
Bobby Roode and Jeff Hardy Go Face-to-Face
Jeff Hardy has come a long way since the disastrous Victory Road pay-per-view last year.
Since returning in September he seems to enjoy what he does more than ever before and he has proved to be reliable once again.
Now he is the No. 1 contender and will go up against the champion Bobby Roode in three days at Genesis.
Tonight the two wrestlers will go face-to-face in the ring not just before their match at the PPV but before the main event tonight.
What will be the final words said before their big match at TNA’s first PPV of the year?
A.J. Styles and Kazarian vs. Samoa Joe and Magnus: Wild Card Finals
Three weeks ago TNA began the Wild Card tournament to determine the No. 1 contenders for the TNA Tag Team Championship.
Each team was randomly put together, some of which were enemies being forced to coexist for an opportunity at tag-team gold.
When the tournament began Samoa Joe and Magnus advanced as did Abyss and Scott Steiner.
Two week ago the fans saw Eric Young and ODB and the team of A.J. Styles and Kazarian advance as well.
Last week TNA gave the fans the semi-finals which saw Joe and Magnus advance along with A.J. Styles and Kazarian.
Tonight those two teams battle it out in the finals and the winners will face Crimson and Matt Morgan at Genesis for the TNA Tag Team Championship.
Which team will advance to Genesis?
Gail Kim and Madison Rayne vs. Mickie James and Traci Brooks: Knockout’s Tag Titles
Last week Sting declared that Madison Rayne wasn’t in charge of the Knockout’s division like she thought.
In fact, the Icon Sting took control of the women of TNA and that isn’t good news for the champions of the division.
Last week Sting booked Gail Kim vs. Mickie James for the Knockout’s Championship but with help from Madison, Gail was able to retain her title.
Now they both must defend their Knockout’s Tag Team Championship against Mickie and her partner Traci Brooks.
This could be punishment for Madison’s actions last week and it could result in the loss of the tag-team titles.
Will Madison Rayne’s big mouth cost her and Gail Kim their titles or can they continue their reign at the top of the Knockout’s division?
Jeff Hardy, James Storm and Abyss vs. Bobby Roode, Kurt Angle and Bully Ray
At Genesis, Jeff Hardy is getting the biggest second chance he could possibly get as he faces Bobby Roode for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
Since Hardy became No. 1 contender, Roode has been one step ahead of his challenger.
Whether it was putting him through a table or getting away just in time before Hardy could attack, Roode has had the upper hand in this feud since day one.
Can Jeff Hardy finally gain some momentum?
James Storm defeated Kurt Angle for the World Championship but after losing it to Roode, Angle screwed Storm in his rematch.
Since then the feud has been mostly talk, but Storm has had the upper hand with a win at Final Resolution and a super kick last week.
Can Kurt Angle gain some revenge?
The Abyss/Bully Ray feud has been going on since Abyss lost the X-Division Championship in July.
Bully Ray would physically and mentally abuse Abyss and the Monster was no longer a monster.
When Hulk Hogan turned on Immortal Abyss soon followed suit and attacked the group setting his sights on Bully Ray.
At Genesis, the two will go one-on-one in Monster’s Ball and if Abyss loses he must rejoin Immortal.
As these six men go to war tonight, who will gain the momentum going into Genesis this Sunday?
Tonight shows a lot promise and should be another great episode of Impact Wrestling!
Tune in tonight to see what happens!
