Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 17: Top Matchup Plays and Sleepers
Week 17 of the 2023 NFL season is here.
It's time to go win a fantasy football championship.
To help steer you toward title town, we're spotlighting two of our favorite starts and sits for the upcoming slate.
Start: Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys (vs. Detroit Lions)
1 of 4
Dak Prescott has strung a couple of wobbly weeks together, posting just two touchdown passes and an interception over his last two outings.
This could be the contest that gets him fully back on track.
The Lions have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, per Yahoo. While they tallied four interceptions in Week 16, they also let Nick Mullens throw for 411 yards and two scores.
Sit: Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs. New Orleans Saints)
2 of 4
Baker Mayfield seems determined to sprint through the finish line, as he's now reeled off three premier performances in a row. Given the groove he's in, it's possible your roster won't allow you to sit him.
If it does, though, that's probably an option worth taking.
The Saints have allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to the position. Mayfield did get the better of them in Week 4 with three touchdown throws, but four of the past five quarterbacks they've faced failed to reach 17 fantasy points.
Start: D'Andre Swift, RB, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Arizona Cardinals)
3 of 4
D'Andre Swift has been a set-him-and-forget-him starter at times this season, but that hasn't always been the case of late. Between Weeks 12 and 15, he landed just 39th at the position in standard fantasy points, per FantasyPros.
He looked the part of a locked-in starter in Week 16, though, as he capitalized on a favorable matchup with the New York Giants and recorded 92 yards and a score on his 20 carries.
Well, things look even better on paper for Swift in Week 17. The Cardinals have allowed more fantasy points to the position than anyone.
Sit: De'Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins (at Baltimore Ravens)
4 of 4
De'Von Achane has produced some game-breaking moments in his electrifying rookie season. You just have to go a ways back in his game log to find them, though.
He hasn't reached 70 scrimmage yards in any of his last three outings. He hasn't tallied a touchdown in any of them, either.
While he has the explosiveness to snap out of this at a moment's notice, he's stuck in a rut regardless. Expecting him to snap out of here is a tall ask, too, as the Ravens have given up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to the position.
