Ravens vs. Jaguars: Updated Odds, Money Line, Spread, Props to Watch for SNF

Alex BallentineDec 17, 2023

Sunday Night Football plays host to a crucial AFC game in Week 15 with the Baltimore Ravens looking to continue their quest for the No. 1 seed against the AFC South-leading Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Ravens enter the day with a one-game lead over the Miami Dolphins at 10-3. They are enjoying a two-game lead over the Chiefs, Jaguars and Browns who are each at 8-5. However, a loss here would really tighten the conference race as the Ravens have a tough remaining schedule that includes the Niners and Dolphins.

For the Jaguars, a win would set them up with a clear path to win the division and claim an even higher seed. They have the Panthers, Titans and Buccaneers on the schedule.

It would also be a huge boost of much-needed confidence. The Jaguars have lost back-to-back games against the Bengals and Browns while the Ravens are riding a three-game winning streak.

Here's a look at the latest lines and odds for the big matchup with a preview, prediction and some prop bets worth consideration.

Game Preview and Prediction

A road dog is always dangerous, but it's pretty easy to see why the oddsmakers have pegged the Ravens as the favorites here.

Not only have they just been the better team this season, but they are playing at a higher level than the Jaguars right now. Both teams are dealing with significant injuries. The Jags are without Christian Kirk on offense and Tyson Campbell on defense. The Ravens don't have Mark Andrews and David Ojabo on defense.

The Ravens have found ways to overcome their injuries, though. Isaiah Likely has stepped up in Andrews' stead and Baltimore is toward the top of the league in most defensive metrics.

Baltimore's ability to pass the ball is going to be important for them to cover the spread on the road. The Jacksonville secondary has really struggled recently. Backup quarterbacks Joe Flacco and Jake Browning combined for 665 passing yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions.

On the other hand, the Ravens defense has shown some weaknesses of late. They beat the Rams last week with a punt return in overtime but Matthew Stafford and the Rams put up 31 points and 410 total yards.

This will be a big game for Trevor Lawrence, who managed to play against the Browns despite an ankle injury suffered in Week 13. He tossed three interceptions against Cleveland, though.

He'll need a big performance if the Jags are going to take a stand against a team that has already proven it's for real.

Prediction: Ravens -3.5, Over

Props to Consider

Parker Washington

Parker Washington Over 19.5 Receiving Yards

The Jaguars are still adjusting to life without Christian Kirk and it looks like the books might be too. The sixth-round rookie was not much of a factor before Kirk's injury but in the two games that he's been out Washington has taken on a larger role.

He has scored a touchdown in each of those games. He had six catches for 61 yards against the Bengals and followed up with two catches for 27 yards against the Browns. There's a spot in this offense for Washington and the Jags are going to have to throw the ball to keep up.

Odell Beckham Jr. Over 37.5 Receiving Yards

Mark Andrews went down with his injury early in the Week 11 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. In that game, Odell Beckham Jr. tied his season-high of seven targets, catching four passes for 116 yards. He followed it up with a bit of a down game, catching three of his five targets and coming in just under this number with 34 yards.

Then last week, he caught four of 10 targets, setting a new season-high for looks. He also crushed this line with 97 yards and a score.

Since Andrews' injury, Jackson has looked Beckham's way more with the exception of game when the Ravens offense struggled. Expect him to look to the veteran to crush this line again against a suspect secondary.

Lamar Jackson Under 48.5 Rushing Yards

Taking the under on a Lamar Jackson rushing total can be a stressful experience. He has the ability to get this in one scramble. However, he's been close to about 50 percent (7-6) at hitting this line on the season.

The Jaguars have one of the best run defenses in the league, though. They are holding teams to nearly 3.9 yards per carry and have only given up close to this line once when C.J. Stroud had 47 yards on the ground.

Just a few weeks away from the playoffs and facing a bad secondary, the Ravens should be looking to utilize Jackson's arm and keep him healthy than calling a whole lot of designed runs to win this one.
