Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups: Sleepers Available in Majority of Fantasy Leagues

Joe TanseyDec 15, 2023

The first Saturday game on the Week 15 NFL slate could be a treasure trove for fantasy football players in need of waiver-wire additions.

Chase Brown's role within the Cincinnati Bengals offense increased over the last two weeks, while Ty Chandler could be in for a big production increase for the Minnesota Vikings.

Brown and Chandler are both rostered in less than half of Yahoo fantasy football leagues and could provide massive boosts to fantasy teams in either the first week of postseason play, or the final regular-season week.

Other potential star sleepers may be more difficult to find, but if you deep into a few matchups, there are some additions who could provide boosts at almost every position.

Chase Brown, RB, Cincinnati

Brown produced 166 total yards in the last two weeks.

The majority of that production came on 54-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of last week's win over the Indianapolis Colts, but he has still been active on his other snaps.

Brown earned 17 carries in the last two weeks and he caught all three of his targets in Week 14.

The 2023 fifth-round pick will only make a larger impact on the Bengals offense as they chase after an AFC wild-card position.

As of Friday morning, Brown was rostered in 20 percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues, per FantasyPros.

Brown will not be the feature anytime soon, but it is clear Zac Taylor and the Bengals coaching staff trust the rookie running back, and he should be a good complement to Joe Mixon for the rest of the season.

Brown has the potential to be a great FLEX player, especially if he continues to be dynamic in the passing game, like he was last week.

Ty Chandler, RB, Minnesota

Trusting the Minnesota offense right now can be a difficult thing to do.

The Vikings flipped from Joshua Dobbs to Nick Mullens at quarterback and Justin Jefferson is listed as questionable ahead of Saturday's matchup with Cincinnati.

Minnesota already ruled out running back Alexander Mattison, which should boost Ty Chandler's stock.

Chandler had 12 carries and three catches in Week 14 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had at least 35 rushing yards in three of his last four games.

Chandler could turn out to be a vital asset in points-per-reception leagues since he had nine targets over the last three games.

Mullens may turn to Chandler more in the check-down game to create some sort of offensive momentum on Saturday with or without Jefferson.

Chandler would become an even more intriguing waiver-wire option if Jefferson is ruled out, but even in his current position, he could have RB2-type production in Week 15.

Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee

Chigoizem Okonkwo has the potential to be one of the best sleeper plays in Week 15.

The Tennessee Titans tight end had back-to-back six-target games versus the Colts and Miami Dolphins and he faces a Houston Texans defense that gives up the third-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends.

The Texans allowed four receptions and 57 yards last week to the New York Jets' Tyler Conklin.

Okonkwo is in a similar situation as Conklin at the moment inside an offense with a defined No. 1 target and then not a lot of depth beneath that.

Will Levis relied on Okonkwo to pick up yards while DeAndre Hopkins is covered by multiple defenders, and the same thing could occur in Week 15.

Okonkwo is only rostered in 34 percent of Yahoo leagues. He could be added as a starting tight end in most fantasy lineups because of his Week 15 matchup.
